The Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics invites applications for the position of a Post-doctoral Research Associate in the field of High Energy Physics, with particular focus on Theoretical Cosmology. The position is under the supervision of Dr. Enrico Pajer and the funding is part of the research programme VIDI with Project No. 680-47-535, which is (partly) financed by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO).

The successful candidate will have or be about to receive a PhD in Theoretical Physics, or a closely related area, and have expertise in theoretical cosmology, general relativity and quantum field theory. Duties will include developing and conducting individual and collaborative research objectives, proposals and projects. The role holder will be expected to plan and manage their own research and administration, with guidance if required, and to assist in the preparation of proposals and applications to external bodies. They must be able to communicate material of a technical nature and be able to build internal and external contacts. They may be asked to assist in the supervision of student projects, the development of student research skills, provide instruction or plan/deliver seminars relating to the research area.
