Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Algebraic Geometry and Representation theory
We invite applications for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant position to work with Professor Balazs Szendroi and Professor Kevin McGerty at the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford. This is a full-time, 2-year fixed term position associated to the EPSRC-funded project Moduli spaces associated to singular surfaces and representation theory.
The successful candidate will be a member of the Geometry research group within the Mathematical Institute. The successful candidate will be expected to perform research related to the aims and objectives of the project, and to interact with other members of the group, including junior members. They will also be given the opportunity to undertake teaching which will not exceed 3 hours per week for 24 weeks per annum.
Applicants will be expected to have, or be close to completing, a PhD in algebraic geometry, geometric representation theory, or a related discipline. They will also be expected to present evidence of substantial contributions to the field including arXiv preprints and, as appropriate, publications, together with the ability to perform research towards the aims and objectives of the project, and to contribute ideas to develop new research directions.
