Postdoctoral Research Associate in Mathematical Physics at Oxford, Great Britain
We invite applications for a
*Postdoctoral Research Associate*
to work with Dr Erik Panzer on a new project in Mathematical Physics. The position is fixed-term for one year, starting 1 October 2020, and the postholder will be based at the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford. Please note that the postholder must be in post by 1 October 2020 to complete the one year post.
The successful candidate will conduct research relating to Dr Panzer’s project ‘Quantum perturbation theory at large orders’. This covers in particular mathematical and computational aspects of Feynman integrals and renormalisation, deformation quantisation, asymptotics and resummation of perturbation series, and applications of rapidly mixing random walks and log-concavity to Feynman integrals. They will contribute to the activities of the research group, whilst also managing their own academic research and associated activities.
You will have a PhD in mathematics or a related discipline, and possess specialist knowledge and skills in mathematical physics to be able to work within the established research programme. Preference will be given to applicants with the experience and ambition to connect pure mathematics with theoretical quantum physics.
