We invite applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Mathematical Modelling of Filtration and Decontamination to work with Professors Chris Breward, Colin Please and Ian Griffiths. The position is full time, fixed-term for two years, and the post-holder will be based at the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford.

The successful candidate will extend and solve mathematical models for reactive filtration, alongside building new models for decontamination in situations where hazardous chemical agents are present in both gaseous and liquid form. They will also be expected to engage with our collaborators in industry (eg W.L. Gore and Associates Inc., Smart Separations, DSTL). They will write up their results for publication, present papers at conferences and contribute ideas for new research projects, whilst also managing their own academic research and administrative activities.

Applicants will be expected to have, or be close to completing, a PhD/DPhil in mathematics or a related discipline, and have expertise in mathematical modelling using partial differential equations. They will possess the independence and ability to undertake high-quality research, be able to work both independently and as part of a team, and have excellent interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication skills.
