Applications are invited for an Unestablished Lectureship in the Mathematics of Information to commence on 1 October 2021 or by agreement. Appointment will be made at an appropriate point on the University Lecturer scale and will be for a period of three years.

Applicants should hold a PhD in Mathematics or Statistics and be able to demonstrate an outstanding research record in an area of Mathematics of Information, understood to include Applied and Computational Analysis, Partial Differential Equations, High-Dimensional and Non-Parametric Statistics, Probability, Information Theory. The Lecturer will be expected to give lectures at undergraduate and masters-level, and to perform other usual departmental duties such as those associated with examinations.

They will assist the co-Directors of the CCIMI PhD in Mathematics of Information, taking the role of Deputy Director of this PhD training programme. They will also be required to write papers for publication, attend conferences, network with national/international colleagues and give presentations.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 3 years.
