Post-Doc Position (f/m/d) in Business Analytics and Operations Research
The Chair of Production Management (https://www.bwl.uni-mannheim.de/en/stolletz/) in the Area Operations at the Business School of the University of Mannheim invites applications for a post-doctoral scholar. The initial appointment is for 12 months starting on August 1st ,2021, and can be extended depending on mutual agreement, satisfactory performance, and the availability of resources. There is flexibility with regards to the starting date to accommodate the selected candidate.
The Chair’s research focuses on the development of methods in predictive and prescriptive business analytics, specifically performance analysis and optimization of stochastic systems with different application fields. Some projects are funded by industry partners, the European Union, or the German science foundation (DFG). The postdoctoral projects’ focus is on stochastic modeling with applications in manufacturing, service operations, or logistics. The position also includes funds for conference travel and research expenses.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. (prior to the start of the post-doctoral fellow appointment) in operations research, operations management, industrial engineering, applied mathematics, machine learning, or related disciplines. Individuals with strong skills in business analytics, especially in stochastic modeling, are encouraged to apply. High-potential candidates are expected to have excellent English language skills (German language skills are not necessary).
