About

On top of having an active website as well as email lists for distribution of information and discussions, EWM organizes and supports various meetings and summer schools.

We also have possibilities of applying for travel grants and a mentorship programme.

This meeting lasts for one week, it has a scientific program with mini courses, invited lectures and contributed lectures. It is also where our general assembly takes place. The last ones were in Cortona in 2015 and Graz in 2018. The general meeting in 2020 was to have been held as the part of the European Mathematical Congress, but it was cancelled due to the Covid19-pandemic.

EWM awards a few grants each year to female mathematicians that are EWM members and who need funding (travel and/or accommodation, up to 400 EUR) for participating and giving a talk at a significant conference in their field.

The aim of the mentoring programme is to bring together a younger and a more experienced member to share experiences, get different perspectives, motivate and inspire.

These meetings are organized by EWM members locally in each country, most of the time  in cooperation with other institutions.
If you organize such an event, and wish the moral support of EWM please contact us. If the EWM standing committee approves the support, you will be asked to use our logo and we will send the information on EWM infos,  and announce the event in our meeting in countries section.

See here for the reports from previous local meetings.

EWM summer school contains several mini courses, exercises sessions and presentations by the young women mathematicians in the presence of more senior colleagues.

The next EWM/EMS Summer school will will take place virtually at the Institut Mittag Leffler from 28 June – 2 July, 2021. For more information about the school, see here.

To enable support and discussion during times of social distancing, we’ve launched a simple discussion forum.
