A position exists for a Coordinator of the Haematology Data Science Initiative based in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics. The Haematology Data Science Initiative comprises of two major research projects BloodCounts! and HAEM-MATCH.

Blood Transfusion

Working with Professor Carola-Bibiane Schönlieb and her team, the role holder will be responsible for the management of the day-to-day operations and administration of the Haematology Data Science Initiative (HDSci), including generating research funding from industry, monitoring budgets, resource allocation for events, organising activities (such as workshops and conferences), and website development costs. You will be responsible for developing and monitoring a communications initiative for the Haematology Data Science Initiative.

The successful candidate will ideally have a PhD in a numerical or biological field. The successful candidate will have highly developed interpersonal skills, communication skills (both written and verbal) and financial management skills (monitoring complex budgets and understanding funding conditions). They must be able to pay meticulous attention to detail and understand the importance of deadlines associated to particular grants or tasks.

This is a fixed-term position until 30 September 2024; funding may be extended to take the appointment to a three-year contract, subject to approval. The successful candidate would start as soon as possible.
