Research Associate in Complex Geometry (Fixed term)

The Department of Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics invites applications for the position of Postdoctoral Research Associate to work with Dr Ruadhaí Dervan on complex geometry. The post is available for 12 months from 1 October 2022 (the starting date is flexible and earlier start dates are possible by negotiation), and is funded associated to the Royal Society University Research Fellowship “Moduli spaces and fibrations in complex geometry”, which is held by Dr Ruadhaí Dervan.

Applicants should have, or be about to complete, a PhD in a relevant field, a strong research track record, and may have previous postdoc experience. Applicants with experience in K-stability, Kähler geometry, birational geometry or non-Archimedean geometry are especially encouraged to apply. Duties include developing and conducting individual and collaborative research objectives, proposals and projects. Candidates will be expected to plan and manage their own research and administration, with guidance if required. They must be able to communicate material of a technical nature and be able to build internal and external contacts. The post holder may be asked to assist in the supervision of student projects, the development of student research skills, provide instruction or plan/deliver seminars relating to the research area.
