The Institute of Mathematics of the Czech Academy of Sciences (IM CAS) is seeking a researcher for the project “Qualitative Theory of the MHD and Related Equations” coordinated by professor Jiří Neustupa and funded by the Czech Science Foundation.
We invite applications from candidates who have completed their PhD degree in Mathematics within the last 5 years. Applicants should have a good background in the modern theory of partial differential equations and related functional analysis, and mathematical analysis applied to problems of fluid dynamics (the Navier-Stokes equations). Knowledge of basic qualitative theory of the equations of magneto-hydro-dynamics is welcome.

The successful applicant will be based at the Institute of Mathematics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Prague, and perform mathematical research in the areas of the project. He/she is also expected to take part in activities of the Department of Evolution Differential Equations such as seminars and workshops organized by the group. No teaching is involved.
