W3 Associate/Full Professor in »Representation Theory« at Technical University of Munich, Germany
The Technical University of Munich (TUM) invites applications for the position of W3 Associate/Full Professor in »Representation Theory«

Scientific environment: The professorship is part of the TUM Department of Mathematics located within the future TUM School of Computation, Information and Technology. The Munich region with several strong research groups in Pure Mathematics, Theoretical Physics, and Theoretical Computer Science and well-established contacts to other disciplines and industry provides a stimulating and vibrant research environment.
Responsibilities: We seek to appoint an expert in the mathematical research area of Representation Theory. The responsibilities include research and teaching, and the promotion of early-career scientists. Teaching responsibilities include specialised courses in the subject area, the basic courses offered by the department as well as courses for other academic TUM departments.
Qualifications: We are looking for candidates who have demonstrated excellent achievements in research and teaching in an internationally recognized scientific environment, relative to the relevant career level (please see www.tum.de/en/faculty-recruiting-faq/ for further information). A university degree and an outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent scientific qualification as well as pedagogical aptitude are prerequisites. Substantial research experience abroad is expected. Strong interest in interdisciplinary research as well as proven ability to gain and to lead major research projects and to attracting third-party funding (DFG, BMBF, EU, etc.) are also required.
