Applications are invited for up to three Postdoctoral Research Associates in the Astrophysics Group at the University of Cambridge, Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics. Up to three positions may be offered, depending on the availability of funding. The successful candidates will work with academic staff (Henrik Latter, Gordon Ogilvie, Roman Rafikov) on theoretical and computational projects related to astrophysical dynamics, including (but not limited to) the fluid dynamics and magnetohydrodynamics of accretion discs and protoplanetary systems, celestial mechanics, tides and stellar oscillations.
The successful candidate will have, or be about to obtain, a PhD in a relevant area of theoretical astrophysics, N-body, planetary, or fluid dynamics, or magnetohydrodynamics, and have an established track record of original research and experience of working in collaboration.
The positions are expected to be available from 1 April 2023, but the start date is flexible and could be delayed until October 2023 at the latest.
