Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Mathematics, Clark University
The Department of Mathematics at Clark University invites applications for an open rank position (TT assistant professor, TT or Tenured associate professor, Tenured full professor of mathematics), starting fall 2023.
The successful candidate will have a record of significant research achievements adequate for the rank that they are applying for, in the broad areas of differential geometry, geometric analysis and their applications, demonstrated effectiveness at teaching at the university level, and a willingness to engage in departmental and professional service. Applicants for the TT assistant professor must have completed all requirements for a doctoral degree in Mathematics. Applicants for the tenured associate or full professor must have held tenure at another institution prior to joining Clark University.
The primary role of a faculty member at Clark encompasses maintaining an active research program, teaching, curriculum development, student advising, and university service. The Department of Mathematics values and promotes interdisciplinary collaborations and productive relationships with a variety of entities across the university. The teaching load for faculty engaged in research activities is 2-2.
The department faculty research fields are predominantly in the areas of geometry, analysis and probability. They are committed researchers and teachers, and actively collaborate with faculty at other institutions, including some in nearby Boston. The teaching environment consists of small and friendly undergraduate classes, in the setting of a small urban liberal arts research university. Located in Worcester, Massachusetts, Clark University has been a recognized leader in innovative research and education since its founding in 1887. The Department of Mathematics offers a robust undergraduate program and is working with a variety of departments at Clark to develop programs. Our students participate in original research, and many of our graduates have enrolled in distinguished academic institutions or were hired by leading private companies.
