Postdoctoral researcher in Bayesian uncertainty quantification
Applications are invited for an open postdoctoral researcher position at the Collaborative Research Centre / SFB 1294 ‘Data Assimilation’ at the University of Potsdam.
The researcher will work on rigorous Bayesian inference and uncertainty quantification for nonlinear statistical inverse problems in clinical pharmacology. For more detail, please see the project website: https://www.sfb1294.de/research/research-area-a/a04 .
The position will be funded until 30 June, 2025, as a full-time position according to the TV-L E13 (Brandenburg) pay scale. The salary (before taxes, health insurance, and other compulsory deductions) is approximately 4000 Euros per month. The net salary depends on marital/family status and other factors.
The position will be based at the Institute of Mathematics, located on the Golm campus of the University of Potsdam. As a member of the SFB, the researcher will have access to travel funding, soft-skills workshops, regular scientific colloquia, and team-building events organised by doctoral and postdoctoral researchers.
The minimum requirements for the position are as follows:
-Ph.D. in mathematics or mathematical statistics;

-very good communication skills in English;
-strong ability to work effectively, both independently and in a team;
-experience in scientific computing;
-interest in mathematical analysis and statistical inverse problems.
Preference will be given to applicants with experience in theoretical mathematical statistics, especially Bayesian nonparametric inference.
