University of Koblenz – Data-Driven Scientific Computing (full professorship W3)

The professorship for data-driven scientific computing is expected to strengthen and complement the simulation expertise of the Mathematical Institute in its key research topics in modeling, simulation and optimization, and should be able to establish joint research activities with the Faculty 4: Informatics.
Key responsibilities:
The position holder will be responsible for representing the subject mathematics with a focus on data-driven scientific computing in research and teaching. He/She should have an outstanding track record data-driven scientific computing. Research is expected to focus on modern aspects in at least one of the fields continuous system simulation, numerical data-based prediction, uncertainty quantification or machine learning. In addition, contributions to current research topics are expected. Applicants should also be able to relate their own research to the faculty’s profile area “Anthropogenic Stressors in Ecosystems” with its interdisciplinary topic “Water” or to the profile area “Health Data Intelligence” of Faculty 4: Informatics.
