The Department of Mathematics and Statistics is offering a postdoctoral scholarship within the project “Distributional and Behavioural Dynamics in Fund Management, Pensions and Life Cycle Wealth: On the Role of Inflation, Mortality and Inequality”. The scholarship is full-time for two years with starting date 1 April 2023 or by agreement.
Project description:
This project aims at employing mathematical models for investment, fund management, and asset pricing with heterogeneous groups of investors in order to contribute to answering the following questions:
1. How do changing age and mortality profiles affect investment behavior and wealth distributions?
2. In what way does the governance of the fund management affect risk-taking and the wealth share of principals and agents?
3. What are the behavioral biases that cause suboptimal investment decisions, both individually and in the aggregate?
4. How to minimize exposure to inflation and what is the role of the central bank?
The mathematical toolbox used in the project involves stochastic calculus, optimal control theory, arbitrage-free pricing theory, and game/equilibrium theory.
This postdoctoral scholarship is financed and administered by a research grant from the Kempe Foundation (JCSMK22-0082). The stipend is tax-free and will be 672 000 SEK for two years, meaning 336 000 SEK per year.
