The Department of Applied Mathematics, Computer Science and Statistics, Faculty of Sciences, Ghent University, is looking for a promising researcher who conducts scientific research within the area of ​​Scientific computing and can teach various course units from the mathematics program in the discipline of Scientific computing. The research may be interdisciplinary in orientation but mathematical in nature (with an emphasis on applied mathematics), and involves the analysis of advanced computational techniques to answer complex scientific questions. The candidate’s expertise can match or be complementary to the expertise already present in the department.

This vacancy concerns a position as member of the tenured academic staff with a focus on research. Candidates should demonstrate scientific excellence based on criteria of scientific quality, as reflected, among other things, in publications in journals and books with international visibility and in the proposed scientific research in the research plan.
