The School of Mathematics welcomes applications for a research fellowship in Combinatorics to work with Dr Eoin Long on the EPSRC funded project “A high-dimensional approach to Ramsey Theory”.

The post is available for a period of 24 months in the first instance, with the possibility of being extended for a further 12 months. The starting date is 1 May 2024 (although there is flexibility here).

The successful candidate will join a community of researchers in the Combinatorics group within the School of Mathematics, University of Birmingham. The group consists of eight permanent staff as well as large cohort of postgraduate students and postdoctoral researchers and has proven track-record in mentoring and supporting the development of early-career researchers. Applicants should have a PhD (or one near to completion) in Mathematics at the time of taking up the position, a strong record of research and publications and familiarity with techniques from both Extremal and Probabilistic Combinatorics.
