Professor (W2) in Computational Statistics
We are inviting applications for the position of professor (W2) in the area of Computational Statistics, to be filled as soon as possible. The professorship shall represent Computational Statistics as a mathematical research area and be geared towards interdisciplinary cooperation. One objective is the development of novel and efficient methods and algorithms of Computational Statistics and the mathematical analysis of their properties. The research focus shall be on a current research topic in Computational Statistics, such as computational statistical inference, high-dimen-sional statistics, functional data analysis, statistical learning and deep learning methodology, statistical inverse problems, and/or data-driven predictive modeling. A track record of successful acquisition of third party funding is required. Adequate participation in the teaching obligations of the Department of Mathematics is part of the duties.
