The position in Prof. Dr. Barbara Wohlmuth’s group is a budget position with teaching duties and offers the opportunity for project-independent research in numerous research areas with a focus on applied mathematics and numerical simulation as well as in various interdisciplinary projects.

The interdisciplinary orientation of the group includes classical topics in numerical analysis, such as algorithms for fractional PDEs or isogeometric mortar methods, as well as modelling and simulation aspects in a wide range of fields, from biomechanics to geophysics and polymer-fluid coupling, also taking into account alternative discretization methods (e.g. LBM) and high-performance computing. The position includes a teaching obligation to carry out exercises of 5 SWS, as well as active participation in the preparation of courses and other tasks of the working group.
