We invite applications for two Postdoctoral Research Associates in Special Holonomy to work with Professor Jason Lotay on exciting new projects, in conjunction with the Simons Collaboration on Special Holonomy in Geometry, Analysis and Physics. Both positions are fixed-term for two years, and the post-holders will be based at the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford.

The Simons Collaboration is an international network of leading experts in the field, with 14 principal investigators as well as several postdoctoral fellows and PhD students, which seeks to advance the theory and applications of spaces with special holonomy and related geometric structures. The post-holders will perform and manage their own mathematical research and administrative activities for projects in special holonomy and related activities, under the supervision of Professor Jason Lotay, write up the results for publication either singly or with co-authors, and participate in the activities of the Geometry research group and the Simons Collaboration on Special Holonomy.

You will have, or be close to completing, a PhD in mathematics or a related discipline, and have experience in areas relevant to the study of special holonomy. These areas may include special holonomy metrics, calibrated submanifolds, instantons and monopoles, and geometric flows (particularly Lagrangian mean curvature flow and the G2-Laplacian flow). You will have excellent communication skills, including the ability to write for publication, present research proposals and results, and represent the research group at meetings, including those of the Simons Collaboration.
