Assistant, Associate, and Full Professors – Mathematics and Computer Science
The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science (M&CS) at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) is hiring!
We are looking for 25 new colleagues to complement our department, and we welcome applications in all areas of computer science, mathematics, data science, and artificial intelligence. Appointments can be at Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level, depending on the seniority of your profile.

Department of Mathematics and Computer Science
With over 110 (assistant, associate and full) professors, almost 300 PhD and EngD students, about 1500 Bachelor students and 1000 Master students, the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science (M&CS) is the largest department of the TU/e. By performing top-level fundamental and applied research, and maintaining strong ties with industry, M&CS aims to contribute to science and innovation in and beyond the region.
The department’s relationship with the high-tech industry in the Brainport region means that interested staff and students can contribute directly to the development of technological innovations with real-world relevance. Several successful spin-offs have originated from the department and our staff participates in many national and international research consortia.
M&CS is offering highly ranked bachelor and master-level programs in mathematics, computer science, and data science and artificial intelligence, all taught in English. Who are we looking for
To further strengthen and complement our department we are looking for talented researchers in all fundamental and applied areas of mathematics, computer science, data science, and artificial intelligence. We are particularly interested in topics that create synergy with our current research, or that could bridge the research between our clusters and TU/e institutes.
As teaching is an essential part of academic tasks, we are searching for candidates who are not only passionate researchers but also motivated and inspiring teachers.
We specifically also invite part-time candidates to apply.
Your tasks will include:
Conduct research using generally accepted methods in your field, together with a team of PhD students and your colleagues in the department.
Publishing your work in peer-reviewed outlets.
Serving as a responsible lecturer for courses taught in our educational programs and provide educational support to your colleague’s courses.
Supervise (groups of) Bachelor, Master and post-Master students doing projects with
(or without) industry involvement in your area of expertise.
Membership of the various departmental committees that ensure continuous improvement of internal processes, education and research.
As English is the main language at TU/e, proficiency in the English language is a hard requirement. You do not need to speak Dutch. Furthermore, we require experience in scientific research, proven by a PhD in a relevant discipline and by publications in leading international conferences and journals in your area. Some experience as a post-doc is highly recommended.
Conditions of employment
Our offer
You will join a dynamic and internationally oriented department in a thriving and growing university. You will work on a beautiful, green campus within walking distance of Eindhoven city center and the central train station.
Furthermore, we offer you:
An 18-month temporary contract, followed by a tenured position on the same employment level after positive evaluation. Parttime (0.6-0.8 fte) appointments are also possible. If you have a more senior profile, a tailor-made career proposal will be considered.
Salary in accordance with the Collective Labor Agreement for Dutch Universities. Gross monthly salary ranges are for Assistant Professors: € 4,000 – € 6,000, for Associate Professors: € 5,000 – € 7,500, and for Full Professors: € 6,000 – € 10,000. For international candidates, a tax-compensation scheme may be available, leading to a higher net income for a period of five years (the Dutch 30% facility).
A year-end bonus of 8.3% and annual vacation pay of 8%.
A start-up package which includes a reduced teaching load for two years and a 5-year fully funded PhD TA position (30% teaching duties).
You will have an annual budget for (international) travel, a personal computer or laptop as needed, and access to our state-of-the-art technical infrastructure, including High Performance Computing.

Partially paid parental leave and an allowance for commuting, working from home and internet costs.
