 The Mathematical Institute proposes to appoint an Associate Professor (or Professor) of Numerical Analysis from 1 January 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter.  The successful candidate will be appointed to an Official Studentship (Tutorial Fellowship) at Christ Church, under arrangements described in the job description.

The combined University and College salary scale has a minimum point of £46,336 per annum.  In addition the College pays substantial additional benefits, including private medical insurance, college housing allowance of £14,466 pa and £2,200 pa for research support.  An allowance of £2,700 pa would be payable upon award of Full Professor title.

The main duties of the post are to carry out, disseminate the results of, obtain funding for, and supervise research at a high international standard in pure mathematics, to teach a range of topics in mathematics via lectures, classes and tutorials, and to perform administrative and pastoral functions associated with teaching and research.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in mathematics or closely related subject and will demonstrate the ability to carry out research at a high international level in Numerical Analysis along with the ability to teach effectively across a range of topics in mathematics.
