Duties and Responsibilities
The UCL Department of Mathematics invites applications for outstanding candidates to apply for a Clifford Research Fellowship in Pure Mathematics.
The successful candidate is expected to undertake high standard research in pure mathematics, leading to conference presentations and publication in leading journals, and to contribute to the research environment of the department through interaction with staff and students. A limited amount of teaching at undergraduate level will be expected.
This post is available from 1 July 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter.
This post is 3 years in the first instance for a talented early-career mathematician to pursue an independent research programme.
Key Requirements
The successful candidate must have a PhD or equivalent in mathematics or related discipline and a track record of international research excellence and publishing in pure mathematics. A written independent research plan will form part of the application and it will be advantageous if the proposed research is related to one of the department’s pure mathematics research groups: pure and applied analysis; mathematical physics; geometry and topology; algebra, number theory and combinatorics.
