Damage identification in composite materials. Inverse problem.
In this postdoc, we are interesting in the inverse problem of damage identification by ultrasonic technique. The principle is simple: knowing the responses of the structure to specific known sources, we wish to identify possible defects. From a mathematical point of view, the response of the composite material will be modelled by linear anisotropic elastodynamic equation. The goal will be, given some measurements, to recover the elasticity tensor C of the Hooke’s law. In a first part, we will develop the numerical tools to calibrate our model, and in a second part, we will focus on defect detection. A specificity of this work is that we have to consider anisotropic medium and to make the connection with experimental data.
