Applications are sought for a client-facing senior statistical consultant to be based at the Department of Statistics in Oxford. This post is to cover the absence of the substantive postholder, who is taking a period of maternity leave. You will be experienced and qualified in the use of applied statistical methods and have prior consultancy or external-facing experience. As the Director of Statistical Consultancy Services, you will manage and lead on end-to-end provision of the Department’s consultancy activities, which may include: liaising with clients across a range of sectors to understand their needs in the domain of statistics and data analysis; formulating and providing bespoke solutions to their statistical problems; interpreting and delivering the results of the statistical analysis, as well as developing appropriate code. You will engage with a broad range of stakeholders across private and public sectors to promote the Department’s Statistical Consultancy Services. In addition to targeting external clients, you will also provide statistical advice and consultancy to University staff and researchers, and engage actively with other Departments. You will line manage one full-time statistical consultant, mentor students and postdoctoral researchers undertaking consultancy, and be responsible for the operational management of the team.
