Doctoral Candidate in Applied Algebraic Geometry
The Algebra and Discrete Mathematics Research Group in the Department of Mathematics and Systems Analysis at Aalto University in Finland is looking for a doctoral candidate in the area of applied algebraic geometry and algebraic statistics to work under the supervision of Prof. Kaie Kubjas.
Preference will be given to candidates with strong knowledge in algebra. Programming skills and experience in statistics, optimization and discrete mathematics will be greatly valued, but are not mandatory. An excellent command of English is required.
The approximate timescale for completing the doctoral degree is 4 years. The new doctoral student will start in September 2019. The maximum funding period is 4 years. The initial salary is €2449 and the contract includes occupational health care and social security benefits.
