The Institute of Mathematics, Faculty of Computer Science and
Mathematics of Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt am Main
invites applications for the following position as civil servant or
public employee starting at the earliest possible date:
Professorship (W3) for Applied Discrete Mathematics
We are seeking a candidate whose interests complement our existing
capabilities in the Institute of Mathematics and who is widely
recognized for excellent research in a timely area of Applied
Discrete Mathematics (e. g. applied discrete geometry, combinatorial
optimization, computer-oriented discrete mathematics or mathematical
data science). Commitment to acquire third-party funding and
willingness for cooperation with the existing research groups in
mathematics and computer science are expected.
Furthermore, the successful applicant is required to be actively
involved in the teaching tasks of the department, which include, in
particular, courses for first and second year students in
mathematics and computer science.
The designated salary for the position is based on the German
university pay scale or equivalent. Goethe University is an equal
