Original Job Offer

Ice Modeller/Emulation Scientist

We are advertising three new 3- and 4-year postdoctoral positions in ice sheet and ocean modelling with machine learning at the British Antarctic Survey in Cambridge, UK. These posts are part of the GRAIL project, a large international collaboration across 14 institutions dedicated to observing and modelling the melting and calving of glaciers in Greenland fjords.

We are looking for talented mathematicians with a passion for working on real-world problems to join our interdisciplinary research team of ice and ocean scientists. You’ll help us to deliver exciting and impactful scientific research on one of the biggest questions facing society: how much and how fast will ice sheets melt, influencing North Atlantic climate and causing global sea-level rise? Full training in the models and technical aspects of the roles will be given. Further details can be found in the advert and job descriptions.

We will give full consideration to requests for flexible and part time working, such as reduced hours, compressed hours or job sharing.

Informal enquires are very welcome and can be addressed to Rosie Williams ([email protected]) and/or Paul Holland ([email protected]) and/or Rob Arthern ([email protected]).
