Applications must be submitted by May 16, 2024, only using the “Application Form” https://konkurs.impan.pl/konkurs-young-mathematicians/. The application should contain a CV, a research statement, a list of publications and a proposed mentor and collaborators at IM PAN. The eligibility condition is to have a PhD in mathematics obtained not earlier than in 2022 (or 2021 in case of post-PhD parental leave). Candidates without a PhD are also eligible, provided that the PhD degree is soon to be awarded, in which case a detailed opinion of the candidate’s supervisor must be attached.

By the same date two letters of recommendation and the opinion of the candidate’s supervisor (in case PhD is yet to be defended) should be sent by email to konkurs@impan.pl (in the subject of the e-mail, indicate please “Competition for temporary scientific positions” and the full name of the candidate).

The offer concerns positions of assistant and assistant professor for periods from 6 months to two years, starting from the beginning of the academic year 2024/2025.

The successful candidates will be required to conduct intensive research activities in teams at IM PAN, including teams implementing national and international research programs.

The competition will be settled in mid-June 2024, and the candidates will be notified of the result by letter. The condition for taking up a job is the candidate’s consent to include them in the number of people appearing in the application for a statutory subsidy, and obtaining a leave (if applicable) from the home institution.
