The Gran Sasso Science Institute (GSSI) in L’Aquila (Italy) is seeking highly qualified and strongly motivated candidates for 10 Ph.D. positions made available for the doctoral program in “Mathematics in Natural, Social and Life Sciences”. The official call for applications is published here:

The Ph.D. positions are fully funded for the duration of four years and are inclusive of an internationally competitive salary, research allowance, free accommodation, and additional benefits. The positions come with no teaching duties. English is the official language of the program.

As part of the first year of the doctoral program, students are invited to attend a selection of graduate courses offered by the Institute. Only at the end of the first year students are required to choose a research project and a thesis advisor.
