Applications are invited for a funded PhD on the project “Quantum limits for sub-elliptic operators” under the supervision of Dr Veronique Fischer at the Department of Mathematical Sciences of the University of Bath.

Applicants will have obtained, or expect to receive shortly, a Master degree in Mathematics with a first or a 2.1, or an equivalent qualification. They will have a keen interest in various aspects of mathematical analysis and be enthusiastic about the project. Previous relevant experiences, for instance in spectral, semi-classical or/and harmonic analysis or/and in Lie groups, will be an advantage.

The deadline is 13 September but the applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis until the position is filled. Therefore, it is possible that applications may close before the advertised deadline and early application is strongly recommended.
