Within the federal excellence cluster “quantum universe”, the algebra and mathematical physics group in the mathematics department headed by Ingo Runkel and Christoph Schweigert has an opening for a postdoctoral position starting in fall 2022. The position is for 3 years. It does not involve any teaching duties, but teaching on a voluntary basis is possible. The successful candidate will conduct research in mathematics related to structures appearing in quantum field theories with observables of all dimensions, such as tensor categories, topological field theories, factorisation algebras, and higher structures in general. The candidate will participate in and contribute to the interdisciplinary activities in the Quantum Universe cluster.
