It is expected that the candidate will actively conduct research in the area of nonlinear elliptic problems concerning the NCN project Analysis of travelling waves in semili-near elliptic problems. More information, see jmederski.impan.pl or contact by email: jmederski@impan.pl.

Qualifications:
• Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) in mathematics or physics must be obtained before the beginning of the contract. Moreover the Ph.D. degree must not have been obtained more that 7 years before the starting date. Customary extensions of the seven year period after PhD apply in case of parenthood breaks.
• The candidates should demonstrate good knowledge of mathematical analysis, variational methods and nonlinear elliptic partial differential equations. A preference will be given to candidates who specialise in these or similar topics.
• In the last two years before the beginning of the employment, the candidate was not employed at Institute of Mathematics of the Polish Academy of Sciences, see the NCN regulations:

Work conditions:
• The contract of employment for 18 months starting between January 1, 2022 and April 1, 2022. The exact date will be arranged with the successful candidate.
• The gross salary is 10 000 PLN per month (the employer’s taxes must be deducted). The netto salary is about 5 996 PLN (up to the updated regulations).
• This is a purely research position without teaching.
