Basque Center for Applied Mathematics is offering a Psotdoctoral position un federated learning in probabilistic classifiers to work with Artiz Perez in Machine Learning research line.

Traditional machine learning approaches need to combine all data at one location. Federated machine learning addresses the problems of distributed data and privacy with novel solutions combining distributed machine learning and security. The main goal of this position consists of developing federated learning algorithms of probabilistic classifiers. The algorithms will be analyzed theoretically and through an extensive experimentation.

The position of research technician is part of the Elkartek project EGIA (KK-2022/00119), that addresses the problem of edge and distributed computing.

Requirements:
• Promising young researchers.
• PhD degree in Physics, Applied Mathematics, Chemical/Mechanical/Biomedical Engineering.
• Python programming
• Strong background on Machine Learning

Skills:
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate and present research ideas to researchers with different background (e.g., mathematicians and engineers).
• Ability to clearly present and publish research outcomes in spoken (talks) and written (papers) form.
• Good command of spoken and written English

The preferred candidate will have:
• Strong background in Machine Learning
• Experience in programming with Python
• Experience in parallel programming for HPC is desirable
