Postdoctoral position in Advanced statistical and Artificial Intelligence methods for Data Analysis
Basque Center for Applied Mathematics – BCAM is offering a postdoctoral position in advanced statistical and artificial intelligence methods for data analysis to apply the existing methodology to complex sampling survey data. To collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in the development of statistical methodology for modeling data with complex structures… To incorporate the obtained statistical methods in Neural Network models. To develop and validate prediction models in the biological, agricultural, health, and energy fields. The research will join MATHDES research line to work with David Pardo and Irantzu Barrio.
Contract: 1 year

Requirements: Promising young researchers.
PhD in Statistics, Mathematics or related field.
Applicants must have completed their PhD before the contract starts.
Skills: Good interpersonal skills.
A proven track record in quality research, as evidenced by research publications in top scientific journals and conferences.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative research team.
Ability to present and publish research outcomes in spoken (talks) and written (papers) form.
Ability to effectively communicate and present research ideas to researchers and stakeholders with different backgrounds.
Fluency in spoken and written English
The preferred candidate will have:
Strong background in mathematics/probability/statistics.
Background in statistical modeling and inference.
Knowledge in semiparametric and nonparametric regression techniques, mixed-effects and longitudinal models, and spatio-temporal data analysis. Solid programming skills in R.
Knowledge in High-throughput phenotyping analysis is desired Interest and disposition to work in interdisciplinary groups.
