Postdoctoral position in the project Fluid-structure interaction problems

The Institute of Mathematics of the Czech Academy of Sciences (IM CAS) is seeking a researcher for the Praemium Academiae project “Fluid-structure interaction problems: mathematical analysis and applications” coordinated by professor Šárka Nečasová and funded by the Czech Academy of Sciences.
We invite applications from candidates who have completed their PhD degree in Mathematics after February 2020 or will complete their PhD before January 2025. Applicants should have a good background in the theory of partial differential equations and mathematical analysis of fluid mechanics. Knowledge of the modern theory of partial differential equations, strong and weak solutions, and Sobolev spaces is necessary. Some experience with modeling fluid-structure interaction is welcome.
We require verbal and written English communication skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Publications, as well as other activities and professional achievements, will be judged by the stage of the applicant’s career.
The successful applicant will be based at the Institute of Mathematics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Prague, and perform mathematical research in the areas of the project. He/she is also expected to take part in activities of the Department of Evolution Differential Equations such as seminars and workshops organized by the group. No teaching is involved.
