Level of employment: 100% (40 hours/week)
Salary: € 66,501.40 per annum (gross), according to the collective agreement of the Austrian Academy of Sciences.
Duration: the position is offered initially for 1 year with the possibility of an extension up to 6 years.

Your main tasks:
– Development of computational models and softwares to be used in the direct simulation of biomedical problems such as the cardiovascular system and brain tumor growth, in uncertainty quantification, and in the inverse problem of parameter identification for model personalization.
– Maintenance of the research group simulation codes.
Area of responsibility
– Independent research and further scientific qualification
– Acquisition of third-party funding
– Supervision of students
– Contribution to expanding the international scientific contacts of the Institute
Requirements
– Doctorate in Applied Mathematics, Biomedical Engineering, or closely related field
– Strong background in finite element simulation.
– Strong proficiency in English
– Proficiency with C++ and Python programming

– Experience in interdisciplinary research and HPC
– Scientific curiosity and enthusiasm
– International experience
– Communication and scientific dissemination skills
