The Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt am Main, Germany, Institute of Mathematics, Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics, invites applications to fill the following position as civil servant or public employee starting at the earliest possible date:
Professorship (W3) for Stochastics
We are seeking a candidate widely recognized for excellent research, whose interests complement our existing capabilities in probability theory and offer possibilities for collaboration with research groups of the Institute of Mathematics. Applicants must have a track record of internationally recognized publications in the area of stochastic processes, preferably motivated by applications in the natural and life sciences. Furthermore, willingness for cooperation and commitment to acquire third-party funding are expected.
The successful applicant will take on teaching responsibilities at the Institute of Mathematics with a focus on stochastics, and offer cross-listed courses. Successful candidates will be required to participate in the academic self-administration. The professorship is also involved in teacher training; experience and concepts for teaching subject content in schools are welcome.
The designated salary for the position is based on the German university pay scale or equivalent.
