Research assistant in Applied Mathematics (Stochastics) at WIAS (Berlin)
WIAS invites applications for a
Research Assistant position (f/m/d)
(Ref. 21/08)
in the Research Group
“Interacting Random Systems”
(Head: Prof. Dr. W. König) starting at the earliest possible date.
The task is to analyze stochastic models for the dynamics and statics of large interacting systems to support and complement the research directions in the group. We would like the successful candidate to develop contacts to other groups in the Institute. The Institute would support the acquisition of experience with third-party funding, teaching and research supervision in preparation for a professorship.
A completed undergraduate education to Master’s level and a Ph.D. (or equivalent experience) in mathematics or a closely related field is expected. Experience in the areas of large deviations; statistical physics and phase transitions; Markov jump processes will strengthen your application.
