Senior Scientist (postdoc) (all genders welcome)
Level of employment: 100 % (40 hours/week)
Minimum salary: € 60,926.60 per annum (gross); classification according to collective agreement: B1 lit.b
Limited to: the duration of a faculty member’s leave (presumably until September 30, 2025)

Area of responsibility:
– Independent research and further scientific qualification
– Independent delivery of courses
– Participation in the research and teaching projects run by the Department of Mathematics
– Supervision of students
– Participation in organisational and administrative tasks and in quality assurance measures
– Contribution to expanding the international scientific and cultural contacts of the Department of Mathematics
– Participation in public relations activities
Requirements:
– Doctoral degree in Mathematics or a related field completed at a domestic or foreign higher education institution
– A strong background in one or more of the following fields: combinatorial optimization, discrete optimization, mixed-integer nonlinear optimization, analytic combinatorics, enumerative combinatorics, analysis of algorithms
– Scientific communication and dissemination skills
– Programming skills (e.g., Python, Julia, Matlab, SageMath, C/C++, …)
– Fluency in English
Desired skills:
– First relevant publications
– German language skills
– Didactic competence and proven successful teaching experience
– Experience in the acquisition and running of third-party funded projects
– Scientific curiosity and enthusiasm for imparting knowledge
– Ability to work in a diverse team

The employment contract is concluded with an entry-level salary of € 4,351.90 gross per month (14 times per year; crediting of job-specific previous experience in accordance with the collective agreement is possible).
