Applications are welcomed for a client-facing Senior Statistical Consultant to join Oxford University Statistical Consulting, based at the Department of Statistics in Oxford. Candidates will be experienced and qualified in the use of applied statistical methods, have prior consultancy or external-facing experience and will hold a Doctorate (or have equivalent research or professional experience) in Statistics or a related field with post-qualification statistical client-facing consultancy experience.
The post holder will report to the Director of Statistical Consultancy and will work closely with the team on strategic planning and development of the service’s activities. They will provide statistical advice, analysis and interpretation of results to varied clients. They will provide guidance and advice to the Statistical Consultant as needed.
The post holder will be responsible for designing and conducting teaching for internal and external clients, both on statistical consultancy and on the use of statistics in a range of disciplines for those with varying levels of knowledge and experience. They will mentor students and postdoctoral researchers undertaking consultancy, providing statistical advice and consultancy to University staff and actively engage with other Departments promoting good practice. They will be a full member of the academic staff at the Department, and as such will contribute to advising on overall scientific and management matters.
