The School of Mathematics at the University of Edinburgh is seeking candidates with a track record of high-quality research in mathematical and statistical aspects of machine learning (ML) and its applications. We welcome applicants with expertise in any of a broad range of topics including: mathematical foundations of ML, interface of optimization and ML, Bayesian neural networks, inference and inverse problems, integration of ML with other forms of mathematical modelling and algorithms, and applications of ML to science, engineering, health and social sciences.
