Two Postdocs in Geometric Group Theory at Oxford

We invite applications for two Postdoctoral Research Associates to join Professor Dawid Kielak and his thriving research team to conduct research in Geometric Group Theory. Both positions are fixed-term for two years, and the post-holders will be based at the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford.

The successful candidates will carry out research relating to Professor Kielak’s ERC grant ‘Fibring’. They will make a significant contribution to the research output associated with this grant, represent the Topology research group at external meetings and seminars, and manage their own academic research and administrative activities.

Candidates will have, or be close to completing, a PhD in mathematics or a related discipline, and possess specialist knowledge in Geometric Group Theory or a suitable neighbouring field. Preference will be given to applicants who possess knowledge of one or more of the following: 3-manifolds and their fundamental groups, free-by-cyclic groups, profinite groups, RFRS or special groups, L^2-invariants, group rings.
