The University of Vienna seeks to fill the position from 01.01.2022 of a University Assistant (post doc) at the Faculty of Mathematics

Extent of Employment: 40 hours/week

Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: §48 VwGr. B1 lit. b (postdoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade.

Job Description:
The advertised post doc position is associated with the chair for Numerics of Partial Differential Equations of Prof. Ilaria Perugia. We are looking for a highly qualified researcher with special interests in Numerical Methods for Partial Differential Equations. Topics of current interest to the group include standard and non standard finite element methods with application to wave propagation problems. The job holder’s responsibilities include independent research and holding classes due to extent regulations of wage agreement and the usual administrative duties.

Profile:
A Doctoral degree / PhD or similar qualification in mathematics is required for all candidates, as well as experience in teaching and research. Past research should be documented by publications in recognized scientific journals.
