Your Responsibilities

Writing a dissertation and obtaining a doctorate in the field of data science
Independent and cooperative research in the area of ​​mathematical fundamentals and interdisciplinary applications of machine learning
Participation in research projects and projects of the “Applied Mathematics and Machine Learning” working group, especially in the context of Bayesian and generative models for inverse problems in image processing
Participation in the acquisition of third-party funded projects
Independent implementation of courses in the field of machine learning, supervision of students and holding exams
Participation in organizational and administrative tasks

Your Profile

Completed master’s or diploma degree in mathematics
Ability to analytically and numerically address problems in machine learning and applied mathematics, demonstrated by relevant theses or publications
Sound knowledge of at least one of the following areas: Machine learning, inverse problems, variational image processing
Programming knowledge in Python and experience with computing clusters (e.g. VSC or comparable)
Ability to integrate into the research profile of the IDea_Lab and especially into interdisciplinary cooperation projects
Ability to teach in German and English
Team, organizational and communication skills
