The Institute of Mathematics and Scientific Computing is looking for an

University assistant with doctorate (m/f/d)

40 hours a week
fixed-term employment for 6 years*

At the university location Graz with three universities, there is an established interdisciplinary cooperation network of
several research groups in the areas of Inverse Problems, Machine Learning, Optimization and Medical Image
Processing. The advertised faculty position is part of the research group “Mathematics of Data Science” at the Institute
of Mathematics and Scientific Computing at the University of Graz, and is closely integrated into this cooperation
network. The position focuses on research in mathematical foundations and interdisciplinary applications of machine
learning and inverse problems. In addition to cooperation in the group “Mathematics of Data Science”, the position is
characterized by a high degree of autonomy; there is the possibility to conduct independent research, apply for thirdparty
funding projects, teach courses, and supervise theses.
