The Faculty of Mathematics and Economics at Ulm University invites applications for a
W3 Professorship for Applied Analysis (f/m/d)
(with management responsibilities)
The position is to be filled at the earliest possible date.
The professorship should represent the field of applied analysis, with a research focus on partial differential equations. Connections to evolution equations and dynamical sys-tems are desirable, possibly also with a stochastic component, and interest in model-ling.
Teaching includes courses for students in our mathematical programs and our teacher training program as well as mathematical courses for students in other programs of study and faculties.
Participation in academic self-administration and scientific organisation is part of the duties.
We are looking for a team-oriented and committed personality with excellent publica-tions in the aforementioned field of research. Experience in the independent acquisition of third-party funding is desirable. Willingness and ability for interdisciplinary coopera-tion within the faculty and the Ulm University are expected.
Based on first-class research in analysis, a link of the research interests to applications in data science, natural sciences, engineering, economics or life sciences is expected. A high level of motivation and pedagogical aptitude for university teaching in German and English is expected. Experience in the education and promotion of young scientists would be desirable.
Conditions for appointment are a completed course of studies at a university, pedagogi-cal aptitude, doctorate and additional academic qualification (§ 47 LHG).
