The Bulgarian section of EWM has 10 members and some of them are or were working as Assoc. Professors or Professors at different Universities and  the others – as teachers at schools in Sofia. Actually all of the members are already in pension, only 3 of them are still working. For every one of both years only 6 members paid their member fees.

Unfortunately we were again most of the time under pandemic conditions connected with Covid-19 virus. This definitely made difficulties in our activities. Some of our members were and continue being busy with online teaching and we shared and discussed the issues in connection with it. Despite that we continued our regular meetings at least two times in a year and all the time we exchanged a lot of information about conferences, meetings, summer schools and other news in the field of mathematics and informatics. Some members took part in scientific sessions at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and at the 51st Spring conference on mathematics in Tryavna, Bulgaria. A part of the members participate in different scientific projects. One of our members takes part in the Standing Committee on Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Computing at The National Evaluation and Accreditation Agency. Another is involved in the organization and participation in ACA 2021 and ACA 2022.

The coordinator Elena Gavrilova made a connection with the Director and math teacher of the School for Visually Impaired Children “Lousis Braille”, Sofia. It is a state special institution under the Ministry of Education where blind and partially sighted children from all over the country, some of them multiple handicapped, are educated. We supported financially buying some three-dimensional models for the pupils at the school which purpose is to help them in the process of studying mathematics. A visit of our members to the school is forthcoming to meet the math teacher and some pupils to discuss the issues they face.
