Basic facts:

Slovak group of Women in Mathematics has currently only 7 active members, who use to participate at some events we try to organize in order to activate more and younger women.

In Slovakia women in mathematics are working as scientists at the Mathematical Institute of Slovak Academy of Sciences (12 women) or as university lecturers at 10 universities in Slovakia (about 200 women). Currently there are no special committees or members of steering committees within any from the above professional organisations responsible for promoting women in mathematics, nor does the agenda exist related to these issues.

Non-profit professional scientific organisation Slovak Society for Geometry and Graphics aimed to stimulate scientific development in the field of geometry and computer graphics, to support young scientists in these disciplines, and to enhance the quality of geometry education at all levels has about 20 members, while 15 of them are women. This society organized under its own costs several special events for women in mathematics:

• Careers of Slovak Women in Maths, Activity within the May 12 inititive, on-line meeting and discussion, May 12, 2021 – 12:00 – 14:00
• Seminar Women in Geometry and Geometric Modelling, joint event with International Symposium on Geometry and Graphics, September 13-17, 2021, Kočovce, Slovakia. An informal meeting of participating women mathematicians was held, where information about EWM organisation and its activities was presented and possibility of individual membership was promoted.
• EWM national meeting in Slovakia, on-line meeting organized on October 15, 2021 by Institute of Mathematics and Physics, Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava.
• Next national meeting of Women in Mathematics in Slovakia will be held at the Institute of Mathematics and Physics, Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, on June 23, 2022. Here I plan to inform about the 19th EWM General Assembly that is going to be held on August 22-26, 2022 in Helsinki. We will also collect the membership fee for the year 2022 and use it for local organizational purposes.
• Special session on position of women in mathematics is going to be held during the 8th Czech-Slovak Conference on Geometry and Graphics, September 12–16, 2022 at University of Olomouc, Czech Republic. During the session we will discuss possibilities and ideas how to continue in promoting better gender awareness in Slovak and Czech mathematical communities remaining reluctant towards gender agenda in STEM.

As EWM national coordinator for Slovakia I keep informed all women mathematicians who articulated interest to receive information about EWM and its activities. I have invited them to participate at our national meeting, and also at the EWM General Assembly, and hope to be able to raise higher awareness about EWM activities.
